Beryl Ann Nicholson is a distinguished educational leader with over 15 years of senior leadership experience and more than 40 years in international education, dedicated to enhancing school performance and improving student outcomes.

Beryl holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Exeter and a Master’s degree in International Education, Leadership, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Wilkes University. Her expertise spans the British National Curriculum, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), with a strong focus on curriculum development, school policy design, and accreditation processes.

Throughout her career, Beryl has worked in international schools across 11 countries, gaining extensive experience in culturally diverse contexts. Over the past 15 years, she has led teams to improve student achievement and organizational effectiveness. As Head of Elementary at Keystone Academy in Beijing, she spearheaded the development of transdisciplinary curriculum units, strengthened the bilingual immersion program, and led the successful implementation of STEAM education—cultivating students’ creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. She also introduced the “Looking for Learning” approach, which fostered a culture of self-reflection and professional growth among faculty.

During her tenure as Principal at the International School of Kazan, Beryl led the school through the successful IB PYP candidacy and CIS accreditation processes. She developed and aligned curricula with international standards and implemented robust policies to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. Her leadership roles at Zurich International School and the International School of Seychelles further demonstrated her ability to modernize curricula, elevate teaching quality, and build inclusive school communities.
