The First Stop of the 2025 JISAC Trail Running Race Ignites Passion

On Thursday, September 25th, Dehong proudly welcomed over 160 runners from nine international schools to our campus for the first JISAC sports event of the school year, the Cross Country. Students from Harrow, Daystar Academy, BIBA, MSB, YCIS, BIBS, THIS, AISB, and Dehong competed in U9 (1.5 km) and U11 (3 km) races, with the course taking them in and around the school and out into the GrasseTown community. The morning was filled with excitement as students showed determination and teamwork, cheered on loudly by classmates, teachers, and families. With rest areas, refreshments, and plenty of encouragement, the atmosphere was both supportive and full of fun.

Participating in sports events is a crucial part of a student's development. It not only strengthens their physical fitness but also profoundly cultivates their willpower, teamwork, awareness of rules, and emotional management. Through competition, students learn how to face challenges, respect their opponents, accept the consequences, and develop a sense of belonging and responsibility within the community—these are the core qualities advocated by Dehong Beijing's "holistic education" approach.

The day was not only about running but about coming together as a community to celebrate sport and spirit. Our Principal, Mrs. Fan, captured the feeling perfectly with her words: “My Dehong.” We are proud to have hosted such a joyful and successful event, setting a wonderful tone for the JISAC calendar ahead. We now look forward to welcoming everyone back in October for the Girls’ U9/U11 Football Tournament, as our students continue to grow, compete, and enjoy sport together.
